Things to Do in Volusia County
Racing, beaches, lagoons, springs and river towns, organized by area.
The east side of Volusia County is about the ocean and the lagoons behind it: beach days, surf lessons, lighthouse climbs and dolphin tours on the Halifax River or Mosquito Lagoon. Racing history runs through all of it, from the 1903 speed trials on the sand at Ormond Beach to the modern Speedway in Daytona. The west side trades salt water for fresh, with springs, the St. Johns River and the shade of live oaks.
Each area below shows a few top-rated tours and tickets you can book online, with a link to its full page of highlights. Most guided trips are on the water, especially manatee and dolphin paddles, so morning departures are worth the early alarm in summer, when afternoon storms are common.
